Five Crystals All Black Women Should Have

Crystal work is commonly thought of as a New Age affair.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Many ancient cultures turned to natural resources to understand and connect to powerful energies outside of themselves. Crystals were one of the resources used.  If you’re new to crystal work, here are my top five recommendations for Black Women to have in their arsenal.

  1. Clear Quartz

  2. Rose Quartz

  3. Citrine

  4. Amethyst

  5. Black Tourmaline

Clear Quartz is an important crystal.  In my opinion, if you’re just getting started with crystal-work this multi-purposed beauty is a must-have.  On its own, clear quartz can amplify the energies of anything around it, including you.  Because of this, quartz works well to amplify the effects of the other crystals on this list.

Rose Quartz is known for its love-generating abilities and can be used to protect your heart.  In a world whose messages might have you doubting your worth, rose quartz helps you ensure you don’t live with a hardened heart.  Rose quartz is especially helpful for those of us healing from disappointment in love.  Rose quartz can be worked to attract all kinds of…exactly what we need to be our best selves.

Citrine is a grounding crystal.  It can be used to help you manifest your dreams and visions especially as it relates to career and business.  Some have described citrine as a prosperity stone for these reasons.  It’s also useful in breaking up any negative energy that might have set up around it.  For this reason, I like to take citrine with me to the office whenever there are any issues.

Amethyst is a protective crystal that can enhance your meditations and concentration.  Not only that, amethyst has been known to help us remain open to spiritual energy by helping to still our minds and become centered.  If you need help thinking through a problem, sparking your creativity, or reinforcing your protective energies, amethyst is the way to go.

Black Tourmaline is my number recommendation for women of color especially because of its protective values.  Self-confidence, self-empowerment, and assertiveness can be enhanced through the deliberate use of this powerful natural element.  Not only that, black tourmaline can be used to combat any silencing you may experience in your home, community, or work place.  Tourmaline can also be used to help you concentrate, feel more grounded, and shade you against environmental pollution.
