Learn From History or Repeat It

Last week I posted on Instagram that we should be reading about the Reconstruction period of US History (click here to see that post). I really believe that some of our (rightful) anxieties around US politics in this moment can be informed by the histories that our people experienced in a similar historical moment.

School is inherently political. It's one of the reasons that I decided to spend my career dedicated to educational research and training teachers. That being said, I think it is important that I share more Black history on this page.

Not only do I see this as a way I can be of service to my community, I also believe that it is a way that I can show you more of who I am (and importantly, who I aspire to be).

And hey, it's coming up on Black History Month so ummmmm, yeah... Lot's of new content is on the way! LOL

Always true,

Dr. Tip
